Supporting Aquatic Ecosystems through Education

The University offers educational programs at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the Biology Study Program and the Faculty of Agriculture in the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program implementing a curriculum that contains freshwater ecosystem education programs (courses in Limnology, Aquatic Ecology, Conservation Biology, Conservation of Aquatic Biological Resources) which are based on local commudities, such as: fish diversity in the waters of lakes and rivers in North Sumatra, environmental characteristics of lake and river waters in North Sumatra in the context of managing marine conservation.
The University offers this educational program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the Biology Study Program by implementing a curriculum that contains courses in Ikhtiology, Marine Biology, Brackish and Marine Aquaculture Management in which there is education on fisheries processing and aquaculture.
The University offers these educational programs to the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the Biology Study Program and the Faculty of Agriculture in the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program by implementing a curriculum that contains courses in Aquatic Ecology, Aquatic AMDAL, Fisheries Management Policy in which there is education on Ethics in the waters.

Supporting Aquatic Ecosystems through Action

The University has created a Team of the Center for the Study of the Strait of Malacca Sumatra, this is done considering that the Malacca Strait is one of the most important assets in the world and a strategic asset of the nation so it needs to be well supervised and to support these activities the University also provides funding facilities for strengthening the institutionalization of the Center of Excellence for Science, Technology and Science (IPTEKS) Higher Education (PUI-PT)

Water Sensitive Waste Disposal

The university supports activities to maintain, maintain and minimize changes in the fisk and bilogic of aquatic ecosystems.
The university supports activities to improve the health of aquatic ecosystems by conducting marine conservation.
The University supports activities for programs that encourage and maintain management of the equipment by creating a center of excellence for Mangrove Science and Technology, University of Sumatera Utara
The University supports activities for collaborative programs with the community in an effort to maintain aquatic ecosystems together such as the creation of Tuasan in local wisdom and Nipah Aquaculture Science and Technology which supports efforts to maintain aquatic ecosystems.

Merguiensi) in the waters of Karang Gading, Deli Serdang Regency as the basis for processing, Condition Factor and Exploitation Rates of Scylla serrata in Karang Gading Sumatera Utara and Phytoplankton diversity of Situmurun village, Toba Samosir regency, North Sumatra
