The Good Health and Well-Being program aims to improve the overall health of Indonesian society and ensure fair access to quality health services. Universitas Sumatera Utara is committed to supporting programs to improve physical and spiritual health and well-being in Indonesia through research, education and community empowerment. The Faculty of Medicine and all other Health Faculties at USU play an important role in producing quality medical personnel, conducting innovative research in the health sector, and providing equitable health services for the community. Through collaboration with the government, health institutions, and other partners, USU is committed to creating positive changes in the health sector in Indonesia and improving the quality of life of society.

  • Number of Graduates

    Data on graduates from the Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) shows impressive achievements. The peak of this achievement occurred in March, as many as 3,334 students successfully completed their studies, indicating USU's commitment to developing quality human resources. The month of June was also an academic success, with 1,550 students graduating during the period. In September, 3,180 students graduated from various study programs. Closing the academic year in November there were 2,232 student graduates who successfully completed their studies. Thus, the total number of USU graduates in that period reached an impressive figure, namely 10,296 students. This data confirms the valuable contribution of this university in preparing graduates who are ready to compete and have a positive impact in various sectors in society.

    Universitas Sumatera Utara has produced an impressive number of graduates in the health professions. Data shows that a total of 791 graduates have successfully completed their studies in the last year. They consist of various programs, including Doctors, Nurses, Dentists, Pharmacists, Specialist/Subspecialist Doctors, and Specialist/Subspecialist Dentists. This achievement strengthens USU's reputation as a leading health education institution committed to producing high-quality health professionals.

  • Collaborations with Health Institutions to Improve Health and Wellbeing Outcomes

    Universitas Sumatera Utara has various collaborations with local, national and global health institutions to improve health outcomes and well-being. USU's health faculties, including Medicine, Public Health, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Psychology, actively collaborate with various government and private health institutions. USU collaborates with hospitals, health centers, clinics, and other health institutions in the context of student training, joint research, and providing quality health services. In addition, USU also establishes partnerships with international institutions such as the Singhealth Institute of Global Health in Singapore and Far Eastern Memorial Hospital in Taiwan to increase cross-border collaboration in education, research and health services.

  • Programmes in The Local Community to Improve Health and Wellbeing

    Universitas Sumatera Utara is actively involved in various programs and projects to advance the health and welfare of local communities. Through community service grants, we improve education, health and the economy of partners in various sectors including nutrition, sanitation and reproductive health. The Assisted Village Program was also launched to analyze and provide solutions to health and welfare problems in certain villages. USU Hospital is active in providing health services to refugees and is involved in the health insurance program with BPJS. We also encourage disaster preparedness and establish a Medical Assistance Team. All of these initiatives are part of our commitment to promoting the health and wellbeing of local communities and supporting healthy lifestyles.

  • Sports Facilities for The Local Community

    Universitas Sumatera Utara understands the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle for students and the surrounding community. Most of the campus area, which includes parks, sports fields and green areas, is open for use by the general public. However, for use by other institutions or communities, ordering and maintenance fees are in accordance with policies set by the university. This facility can also be accessed by school students through the Junior Archery Training Center program organized by USU. We believe that sharing sports facilities with the local community is a good way to strengthen ties between the university and the surrounding community and promote healthy and active lifestyles.

  • Students Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health-Care Services

    Universitas Sumatera Utara firmly prioritizes student sexual and reproductive health. We have a SAHIVA unit which provides free counseling and facilitates activities of students and staff in this regard. Volunteers from various faculties provide support and education about reproductive health, including HIV/AIDS. USU also provides health services through the Campus Polyclinic at special rates for employees and students. Polyclinics will soon collaborate with BPJS as a health service provider. USU is committed to providing easy access and the information needed to support students' sexual and reproductive health.

  • Students and Staff with Access to Mental Health Support

    Universitas Sumatera Utara diligently prioritizes the mental health of students and education staff. In the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, USU Hospital, USU organizes a mental health consultation unit that provides support for their psychological and mental health. These services include screening, counseling, diagnosis, and therapy, all available free of charge. In addition, at the university level, USU offers an Integrated Service Center in the Rectorate Building, which facilitates students who need help with mental health. Trained psychologists are also available to provide this service free of charge. In addition, the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at USU is actively involved in various seminars, podcasts, and radio/television programs to educate the public about mental health and to reduce stigma towards individuals with mental health problems.   • Smoke-Free Policy

    Universitas Sumatera Utara seriously implements a "smoke-free" policy. The Chancellor of USU has issued a "Zero Tolerance" regulation which strictly prohibits smoking, drug abuse, narcotics, alcoholic drinks, gambling, and other acts of harassment in all campus areas. “No Smoking Area” signs have been installed in public places and buildings as a clear sign of this policy. This step was taken as part of USU's commitment to creating a healthy and safe campus environment for all members of the academic community. This policy is also an important step in accrediting USU as a Healthy Campus.
