The Quality Education program is based on awareness of the importance of quality education as a major factor in sustainable development. Even though there has been progress in the education sector in Indonesia, there are still various challenges such as gaps in access, low quality of learning, and lack of equality in education. Universitas Sumatera Utara is committed to supporting quality education programs in Indonesia through quality higher education, curriculum innovation, research, and community empowerment. USU provides a conducive learning environment, modern facilities, and qualified teaching staff to ensure an optimal educational experience for students. Through collaboration with the government, educational institutions, and other partners, USU continues to strive to improve access, relevance and quality of education in Indonesia, so that it can create a generation that is skilled, educated and ready to face future challenges.

    Data on graduates from the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) shows impressive achievements. The peak of this achievement occurred in March, as many as 3,334 students successfully completed their studies, indicating USU's commitment to developing quality human resources. The month of June was also an academic success, with 1,550 students graduating during the period. In September, 3,180 students graduated from various study programs. Closing the academic year in November there were 2,232 student graduates who successfully completed their studies. Thus, the total number of USU graduates in that period reached an impressive figure, namely 10,296 students. This data confirms the valuable contribution of this university in preparing graduates who are ready to compete and have a positive impact in various sectors in society.

  • Number of Graduates Who Gained a Qualification to Teach at Primary School Level

    Universitas Sumatera Utara does not offer a degree specifically for elementary school teaching. However, fifth to seventh semester undergraduate students can take part in the "Teaching at School" program which aims to develop interest and teaching skills at the elementary or lower secondary level. This program helps students in remote, disadvantaged and frontier areas improve their academic skills, especially literacy and numeracy, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Until 2022, 469 students have participated in this program, with several meanings due to the post-pandemic new normal transition.
