Universitas Satya Terra Bhinneka Visits USU for Benchmarking on SDGs Center and Sustainability Living Lab Development

Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) welcomed a delegation from Universitas Satya Terra Bhinneka for a benchmarking visit focused on the management of the SDGs Center and the development of a Sustainability Living Lab (25/02/2026). The visit served as a platform for knowledge exchange and discussion on strengthening sustainability initiatives within higher education institutions.

The delegation from Universitas Satya Terra Bhinneka, consisting of representatives from the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry as well as the Head of their Bureau of Cooperation, visited USU to gain insights into the establishment and management of the SDGs Center Universitas Sumatera Utara. The benchmarking activity aimed to provide valuable references for the development of a Sustainability Living Lab at Universitas Satya Terra Bhinneka.

The meeting was welcomed by the Head of the SDGs Center USU, Dr. Wahyu Ario Pratomo, along with members of the SDGs Center team. Among those present was Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, a lecturer in Agribusiness from the Faculty of Agriculture USU, who is actively involved in supporting sustainability initiatives at the university.

During the discussion session, the SDGs Center USU team shared the history behind the establishment of the center, its development over time, and the current implementation of sustainability-related programs at USU. The presentation also highlighted various initiatives that integrate sustainability principles into academic activities, research, and community engagement.

Meanwhile, the delegation from Universitas Satya Terra Bhinneka presented their plans to develop a Sustainability Living Lab, an initiative designed to serve as a collaborative platform for research, innovation, and practical solutions related to sustainable development within the campus environment.

Through this benchmarking activity, both institutions exchanged experiences and perspectives on advancing sustainability practices in higher education. The visit is expected to open opportunities for future collaboration and contribute to the broader implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among universities in Indonesia.
