The initiative focused on strengthening surveillance and diagnostic capacity for Plasmodium knowlesi, a zoonotic malaria parasite of increasing public health concern, while also promoting cross-border collaboration between Indonesia and Malaysia. The activity marked the second time such an initiative had been implemented for flood survivors in the region.
